What is Competera PI extension?
Here at Competera, we know that price is the most important aspect of retail business – after all, it affects the brand image and key figures. Thus we are dedicated to delivering timely data and making the process of retrieving this data as convenient for Competera users as possible. Willing to customize the browsing experience, we developed an extension for Google Chrome – Competera Price Intelligence.
Picture this: you're browsing your own or one of the stores you monitor provided the need to know at what price products are being sold in those stores (as well as other details like availability, promotions, etc.). One click on the extension icon and Competera PI will provide you with the product stats such as the current price (in your store and those you monitor), the price difference in percentage, and data recency – how long ago this information was updated. On top of that (both literally and figuratively) there's a price variance graph for last month. All this is now available in a single sidebar.
Find the subject-heading and a detailed description of each section below.
1. Login to your Competera account, find Chrome extension in the menu and click on it to get redirected to the specific page in Chrome Web Store.
2. Hit Add to Chrome and confirm by clicking Add extension – your Google Chrome is now fully stocked and ready for browsing online stores.
Time to test the extension. First, go to your or the online store you monitor and look for any product present in Competera.
Once on the product page, click on the extension icon in the top-right corner and either select the necessary campaign from the list or type in its name. As soon as the data is loaded, the sidebar will display relevant product stats.
You will find the name of the product, its SKU on top, and the button which takes you to the product page in Competera. The upper section of the sidebar displays the price variance graph for last month, hovering over which provides the price information for a specific date.
The next section is dedicated to the stores, where product matches were found, and provides the price itself (yours and that of other stores), the price difference in percentage, and data recency – how long ago this information was updated. Every store domain is clickable and hyperlinked, thus redirects to the page of this product in that online store.
The last section displays those stores where matches for this particular product weren't found.
There will be cases when the sidebar will display no data. This would mean that either the URL of the product page you are at doesn't match to the URL stored in Competera, or you're not monitoring that product in Competera, and adding it to the monitoring will resolve this.
Competera team hopes this will make your use of the platform more convenient and natural. Your feedback is traditionally welcome, so feel free to let us know whether this article was helpful and leave your comments in the comment section below👇.
